HOW TO DRIVE ON THE ROAD WHEN YOU RENT A MOTORMOTORCYCLE

When driving in the streets of Medellín, motorcycles or vehicles follow a certain informal hierarchy, so always drive on the defensive and try to adapt as soon as possible.
Although there are traffic rules, in practice the largest vehicle always has the right of way, so it leads to the defensive and always sure that the driver of the larger vehicle sees you if you try to cross the front. Try to establish eye contact if possible with other drivers to make sure they see you or honk. Always give way to trucks, buses, cars and larger Motorcycles.
Do not be angry or surprised when a truck comes in front of you: The driver is waiting for you to give way. The safest place to drive is always the far end of the slow lane in the city. When driving on the road, try to be closer to the white line of the right lane as there are many curves and the cars tend to invade the opposite way.
Always try to walk a little faster than the average number of cars, since that way you avoid other vehicles overtaking you and possibly blocking your way. Check the road at a distance while driving and explore in the distance that there are no animals, trash, bricks or road hazards, keep your eyes on what is directly in front of you, without losing sight of the environment.
Do what the local cunductores do: use the horn generously if necessary, contribute to the chaos but it is a vital part of the system. Honk politely a couple of times before passing the people and when you turn abruptly so there are no surprises.
Check the motorcycle carefully when it is delivered by the consultant. Report immediately if you find a tire in trouble, the brakes or the engine.
